If you want to make a high-quality indie film, you need a quality video camera and tripod, lighting equipment, costumes for actors, and props.
Not So Rare
“Indie” doesn’t necessarily mean “rare.” It just means that the filmmaker produced the film independently of the commercial film industry.
Indie films are typically on a much smaller budget than commercial films are. Indie filmmakers can’t rely on funding from public audiences, so they have to stretch their finances.
You’ve probably seen an indie film and not even realized it was indie! Some common films are Monty Python and the Holy Grail, One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and To Kill a Mockingbird. Each of these started small and became big hits.
